Overview
Coccydynia pain localised to the coccyx (tailbone) is a condition that significantly impacts sitting, transitional movements, and quality of life, yet is often dismissed or inadequately treated. The pain may arise from injury (falls, childbirth), degeneration of the coccygeal joints, or idiopathic causes. When conservative management with physiotherapy and anti-inflammatory medication has been insufficient, specialist interventional treatment can provide meaningful and lasting relief. Dr Malik offers targeted injection techniques including ganglion impar nerve blocks and direct coccygeal joint injections that are not widely available outside specialist pain centres.
